Problems With aim after getting a New Router.?

ok. I don't know if this is because of My new router or if aim is just having issues on its own. today i upgraded My 5 year old Linksys G router. With a New D-Link N ipv6 router. ok to explain this in detail i have Multiple computers in My house. My wife uses the Aim messenger on her computer. i use Pidgin on Mine which is a multiprotocal messenger. it supports Aim as well. this only happens on her computer using the AIM messenger. on My computer with pidgin it dose not happen even though its still the Aim protocal. what happens is when i send her an im, the second i send it she gets kicked offline. however on her end everything appears normal. no indication that anything is wrong. but no messages are sent or received from her computer until she restarts aim. This started happening the same day i got a new router. is this My router causing this? i installed pidgin on her computer and it works fine over aim. its only the aim messenger that is having issues. i reinstalled it and everything still same. is it aim or My router? if it is the router why would pidgin work and Aim not if they are both using the same protocol?
