An Evil Stepmother in Real Life?

My mom died when I was 6. My dad remarried this older "Christian" lady to be a female role model when I was 9. I was immature at that time and didn't like her very much and told her so. She started acting aloof around me and wanted to have her own kid so she and my dad started going to some kind of fertility place and she eventually got pregnant when I was 11. That was when she got mean and everything but then I thought it was just hormones. Except she got nastier after the pregnancy and her parents made it worse by spreading rumors about everyone. Then we tried to have a sit-down talk with them but they just refused to see from our point of view. And so yeah she pretty much emotionally abused me and my dad for 2.5 years. Now things are getting better, but her parents are here again and my stepmom always acts mean when they're around because of this childhood she had or something. Can any of you give me some spiritual guidance on how to deal with this situation? I feel afraid whenever I'm around her and she still openly hates me (like purposely ignoring my presence and saying stuff "your daughter's a waste of my money" and "your daughter's a spoiled brat" to my dad...for some reason she never says that to my face???) I'm a Christian and I still believe that God has a purpose for all this so non-Christians please don't make rude comments about my religion. Thank you for reading all this!

I have an Encore ENLWI-NX2 wireless card, and my friend helped me install it and it has been working for a long time now. But today another friend help me set up some stuff in msconfig and I did a restart and now it doesn't work at all. I have a Belkin Dual Band N600 router and my laptop can't connect to the internet and stays on local only. I tried all the trouble shooting on it from the protocols to the flags. I uninstall the drivers and put them back in. But no matter what I do I can't get it to connect to the net. It connect just fine with my old router and I have 2 ipod and another pc connected to this router but can't get the laptop to connect. I'm open to any solution that would get it back online.

I do not feel that most people would understand me because my mother I believe is very mean towards me. I believe most people have a mother that shows care, love and support. I try hard to live up to the commandment, to love and respect my parents. How can this be accomplished when all my mother does is say mean things to me and puts me down consistently? Problems With aim after getting a New Router.?

ok. I don't know if this is because of My new router or if aim is just having issues on its own. today i upgraded My 5 year old Linksys G router. With a New D-Link N ipv6 router. ok to explain this in detail i have Multiple computers in My house. My wife uses the Aim messenger on her computer. i use Pidgin on Mine which is a multiprotocal messenger. it supports Aim as well. this only happens on her computer using the AIM messenger. on My computer with pidgin it dose not happen even though its still the Aim protocal. what happens is when i send her an im, the second i send it she gets kicked offline. however on her end everything appears normal. no indication that anything is wrong. but no messages are sent or received from her computer until she restarts aim. This started happening the same day i got a new router. is this My router causing this? i installed pidgin on her computer and it works fine over aim. its only the aim messenger that is having issues. i reinstalled it and everything still same. is it aim or My router? if it is the router why would pidgin work and Aim not if they are both using the same protocol?

Question about breaking apartment lease?

My husband lost his job a little over 2 months ago, due to this we couldn't afford our town house monthly rent. We had to break our lease with the apartment complex. We had 3 months left on our 1 year lease. We advised the property manager that we were unable to make rent for the month of June at the end of May. We advise if of our move out date, she stated that we were phenomenal tenants and she hated to see us go but she understood the reasoning and she would forfeit our security for the last months rent. On moving day, she came to our home. She stated that because of protocol, she had to file an eviction notice with the court. They only give you a ten day grace period before they file an eviction on you. She also stated that the court date was the 22nd and if we could pay her half the rent she would dismiss the eviction. Since we already forfeited our security deposit and paid for last months rent when we moved in, we didn't see any reason to pay again. When we told her that she stated that because we have children, it could be considered child neglect if we get "evicted." I told her that our children were in Florida with their grandparents for the summer and that when they returned they would have a place to live. She left at that point. When my husband turned in the keys, she once again asked for the money and a forwarding address. We didn't give her any money but gave her a forwarding address which was our PO box. She told him that she needed a physical address to serve papers to and if he didn't give that to her she would be forced to serve myself at work. So to avoid the embarrassment of that we should pay her half the rent to dismiss the eviction notice. I understand protocol but it seems as if she is using scare tactics to get more $$$ from us. We have already left, wouldn't the judge dismiss the eviction notice based on that? I know we are on the hook for breaking our lease but she told us we would work out an arrangement on that. Any help would be great. I live in NC by the way.

I have an audition for Pirates of Penzance in August! I've decided to go for the role of Ruth, because even though I can hit Mabel's notes, me being an upcoming sophomore, I feel like the seniors who are more classically trained will beat me out, so I decided to go for Ruth, who is probably more fun character and costume wise anyways. For the audition I need 16-bars of a musical theatre songs (preferably operatic in style) and a 1-minutes classical/comedic monologue. My the song, I'm thinking about doing "Alone and Yet Alive" from The Mikado because it's by the same writers and the role is also a contralto, the same as Ruth. For the monologue, I'm am very confused about what I should do. I'm thinking something from another G&S operetta, but I haven't found any that are comical. I'd really appreciate suggestions on what do for the monologue. And it can't be anything from Pirates of Penzance.I have an entire book on classical women's monologue, but I didn't find anything in there either. Thanks for the suggestions!

How to juggle multiple phone lines at once as a receptionist?

I've had 3+ years in a small office call center and I am thinking of moving into receptionist work. A call center deals with one customer at a time. Do receptionists deal with a lot of handling the customer service complaints via phone or are they mostly transferring calls to others? I just don't see how you can have a 4-6 line phone system with lines all on hold, trying to deal with solving an angry customer on one line, and then have to put them on hold to deal with the other lines and having to keep putting people on hold while dealing with more customers? What if they say no to being put on hold? Do you just ignore the other calls coming in while someone is angry? I guess I'm looking for a typical day and the protocol for answering multiple phones in a situation like this. It just seems weird for customer service to have to keep interrupting the solution process by putting them on hold cause other calls keep coming in, it would piss them off more.

I found this book while browsing at the local library years ago and it was amazing! I believe the title was something like Children of Night or Children in the Night. (Not the book by Dan Simmons) and it was about an entire world that was underground. People didn't remember that there was a surface or a sun, but they had adapted for generations to darkness. Cities, caves, and islands in little to no light at all and people relying on sounds to move around. I think there was also a sequel where they found their way to the surface world. I'm 15 years old (male). My family is everything to me. My brothers (17 and 19) are my role models and my parents the best you could ask for. If it was just a food drive on its own, without being part of any other group,you could put it down as volunteer work. If it was a school-sponsored food drive, then it would be an extracurricular activity. Many activities could be positioned in several different ways. What you want to avoid is obviously listing things more than once, because that would cause the college to doubt all of your other activities too!

You either installed an old piece of software or more likely you have system files on a bad sector on your hard drive. You should run regular check disk, and then run a complete check disk to see if this is true. More than likely you will have to do a fresh install of Vista not a reinstall. If the full checkdisk marks your drive with bad sectors it may mark the file as well, possibly letting you install the missing files with a Vista re-install. Because windows is not dynamic this way you can check the logs from checkdisk and see if any were marked "bad" you can uncompress these files from the Vista DVD and re-register the files once they are in the correct folder. I cannot explain the whole process here feel free to ask the Yahoo questions forum about the steps I have mentioned.

I am using the "Fat to Firm: at any age" book to be my guide for getting in shape. The book advises me to start off small in my weights and go up in weight every month (or until I become comfortable with the weight that I am currently on). When a friend of mine started to accompany me to the gym he assumed the role of personal trainer and insisted that I go up in weight after every set. I became very frustrated because he would assign me a weight that I thought was a little too much for me and even though I was struggling with the weight after I completed a set he wanted me to add on 10 more lbs. When I told him about my book's guidelines for moving up in weight he told me my book was probably outdated and my method wouldn't be effective-- my book was copyrighted in 1998 and I don't if that is or isn't our of date. I want to know how to properly move up in weights.
