Why does our government step in every time Capitalism fails to provide enough jobs?

Obama needs to quit covering for the fading generations mistakes. If you want a smaller government you have to create problems in the economy so government will play its protectionist role and spend its butt off trying to make up for what Capitalism is not providing (road projects etc). We were told it was not the governments job to create jobs in 2005 but now the same generations tell us Obama is not creating enough. If you can create problems in the economy then government will spend so much trying to save its people that it will drown itself in a bathtub.
