For college applications, hosting a food drive counts as what?

It sort of depends on how you are doing it and how you choose to position it. If it was one activity of many within a club you normally belonged to and listed elsewhere on your application, then it was leadership if you were in charge. If it was just a food drive on its own, without being part of any other group,you could put it down as volunteer work. If it was a school-sponsored food drive, then it would be an extracurricular activity. Many activities could be positioned in several different ways. What you want to avoid is obviously listing things more than once, because that would cause the college to doubt all of your other activities too!
